목장의 우선순위는 영혼 구원하여 제자 만드는 일입니다. 이것은 목장 모임의 우선순위가 우리 기존 신자들끼리의 신앙 증진이 아니고 불신 영혼 VIP들을 구원하여 제자 삼는 일에 있다는 것입니다. 소방 구조 대원들끼리 위험한 현장에서 함께 있다 보면 너무 절친한 관계가 되지만, 그 구조대의 우선순위가 대원들의 친목에 있지 않고 화재 현장에서의 인명 구조에 있듯이 우리 목장 모임의 우선순위 역시 불신 영혼 구원에 있는 것입니다.

물론 먼저 믿은 목장의 기존 신자들끼리 사랑과 화목의 분위기가 없이는 불신 영혼들이 목장에 초청되어 왔다 해도 그가 감동 받을 일이 없게 될 것입니다. 그런 점에서 우리끼리의 교제와 섬김은 무척이나 소중한 일 입니다. 그럼에도 목장 모임의 우선순위는 영혼 구원에 있음을 잊지 말아야 합니다.

불난 현장 건물 속에 한 어린이가 위험 속에 있는 것을 소방 대원 한 명이 발견하면, 그 시간부터 다른 동료 소방 대원들과의 합동 작전으로 그 어린이를 구하려고 할 것입니다. 한 대원은 건물 안으로 들어가고, 한 대원은 소방 호스로 물을 뿜고, 또 다른 대원은 불길을 차단하는 연합 작전이 펼쳐지게 되는 것입니다.

목장 전체가 단합하여 한 목원의 VIP를 섬기고 돕는 일은 좋은 열매를 가져옵니다. 어느 교회는 그들의 VIP가 병으로 입원한 일이 있었습니다. 이 일을 들은 목장 식구들은 하나같이 밑반찬을 만들어 병원으로 향했습니다. 환자는 먹지 못해도 환자의 가족들과 자녀들이 먹을 수 있도록 음식을 나른 것입니다. 한 지체가 고통을 받으면 모두가 함께 고통을 받고, 한 지체가 기쁜 일을 만나면 모든 지체가 함께 기뻐하는 것, 그것이 진정한 공동체입니다.

목장에서는 이렇게 한 사람의 VIP를 그 목장 전체의 VIP로 삼으시기 바랍니다. 그를 위하여 합심 기도에 들어갈 뿐 아니라 그의 필요를 채우기 위하여 여러 가지 섬기는 일에 함께 참여하는 것입니다. 그렇게 하나 되어 섬기고 하나 되어 기도하다 보면 크고 좋은 열매들이 주렁주렁 맺어질 것이라고 믿습니다.

The priority of a House Church is to win souls and make disciples. This means that the primary focus of House Church meetings is not the spiritual growth of existing believers among themselves, but rather the salvation of unbelieving souls (VIPs) and their discipleship. Just as firefighters at a dangerous scene may become very close friends as they work together, yet their priority is not fellowship among themselves but saving lives at the fire scene, so the priority of our House Church gatherings must also remain on the salvation of souls.

Of course, without an atmosphere of love and harmony among existing members who came to faith earlier, unbelieving guests who are invited into the House Church will not be moved or impacted. In that sense, fellowship and service among members are extremely important. Nevertheless, we must not forget that the priority of the House Church is the salvation of souls.

If a firefighter discovers a child trapped in danger inside a burning building, from that moment on, the team will begin a coordinated rescue operation. One firefighter will enter the building, another will spray water through the fire hose, and yet another will block the flames. In this way, a unified rescue operation takes place.

Likewise, when the entire House Church unites to serve and support one member’s VIP, it bears good fruit. In one church, a VIP was hospitalized due to illness. Upon hearing this, the House Church members all made side dishes and went to the hospital. Even if the patient could not eat, the food was brought so that the patient’s family and children could be nourished. When one member suffers, all members suffer together; when one rejoices, all rejoice together. That is true community.

Therefore, in your House Church, treat one person’s VIP as the VIP of the entire group. Pray earnestly for that person together, and participate together in meeting their needs through various acts of service. When you unite in service and prayer in this way, I believe abundant and good fruit will be produced.
