이번 주 칼럼은 『목자의 삶』 (김명국 편저) p.335-337에 수록된 “VIP를 위한 중보기도문 – 김명국 목사”에서 발췌한 것입니다.

하나님 아버지! 오늘 이 영혼들을 위하여 기도합니다. 이 영혼을 구원하시기를 기뻐하심을 알고 그가 구원받는 일에 쓰임받기를 원합니다. 먼저 이분들의 삶 속에서 하나님의 은혜가 임하여 삶의 회복이 필요한 곳에서 치유와 회복이 있기를 기도합니다. 하나님께서 불쌍히 여기시어 그의 생활 속에서 하나님의 선하심을 경험하는 은혜를 주시옵소서!

1. 그의 눈을 가리고 있는 덮개를 열어주시어 그로 하여금 주님과 복음을 보게 하여 주시옵소서! 그의 눈을 뜨게 하시어 어둠에서 빛으로, 사탄의 권세에서 하나님께로 돌아오게 하여 주시옵소서! (행 26:18; 고후 4:2-5)
2. 그가 가지고 있는 거짓된 신념과 사고방식으로 하여금 주님께로 나아가지 못하게 막고 있는 악한 자의 계략을 주님께서 파하여 주시옵소서! 또한 나름대로 생각하는 하나님을 아는 지식에 대항하는 모든 교만한 생각들을 물리쳐 주시기를 기도합니다. (고후 10:4-5) (특별히 VIP의 생각을 알고 있다면 여기에 구체적으로 적습니다. 그리고 구체적으로 직접 언급하며 기도합니다: 상대방을 잘 살피면서 계속 파악하여 나갑니다)
3. 그를 향한 주님의 사랑을 보게 하셔서 자신이 주님을 얼마나 필요로 하는지를 알게 하여 주시옵소서! 자신이 빠져 있는 온갖 종류의 타락과 죄악의 올무에서 벗어날 수 있도록 자신의 영적 곤고함과 허무함을 진정으로 보게 하여 주시옵소서! (이 부분도 그 사람이 지금 물질주의나, 섹스 중독, 문란한 생활, 도박 등등 그를 붙잡고 있는 악한 삶의 환경 속에 타락한 내용들을 구체적으로 살피면서 언급합니다)
4. 경건한 사람들이 매일 그가 가는 길에 있게 하셔서 주님에 대하여 듣게 하시옵소서! 그들의 섬김으로 새로운 생명을 주시는 성령 하나님께서 그 위에 임재하시고 머무르셔서 사랑과 능력으로 중생시켜 주시옵소서. (요 3:5-8; 사 66:9) (그 사람 주변에 신실한 사람들이 누가 있는가?를 살핍니다. 그리고 연락을 할 수 있으면 같이 합심 기도를 합니다. 가정교회 사람들을 요즘은 의외로 옛날 친구가 목자가 되어 있어서 신선한 충격을 받았다고 하는 VIP를 몇 번 만났답니다)
5. 그를 악한 자의 속임수와 궤계에서 지켜주시어 그의 마음속에 하나님에 대하여 온갖 부정적인 거짓된 생각들과 모든 사악하고 타락한 생각에 사로잡히지 않도록 하나님의 전신 갑주를 입혀 주시옵소서! (마 6:13; 엡 6:11) (이 부분에 있어서 어려서부터 지금까지 예수 믿는 사람들에게 사기를 당하거나 어려움을 겪은 부정적인 경험을 씻어 주시고, 지금 주변에 있는 예수 믿는 사람의 본이 되지 않는 모습 때문에 기독교 자체를 부인하고 공격하는 빌미가 되어 있다면 우리가 대신 회개하고 위하여 기도합니다)

이렇게 우리가 그를 위하여 전도자가 되기를 기뻐하신다는 말씀을 믿고 이 기도를 드립니다. 진전이 보이기까지 계속해서 그를 위하여 기도하겠습니다. 이 모든 것을 이루시고 그의 구원자가 되실 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘!

Intercessory Prayer for VIPs

Heavenly Father, today I pray for these precious souls. Knowing that You delight in saving these souls, I desire to be used in the work of bringing them to salvation. First, I pray that Your grace may come upon their lives and that there may be healing and restoration wherever healing and restoration are needed. Have mercy on them, O God, and grant them the grace to experience Your goodness in their daily lives.

1. Please remove the veil that covers their eyes so that they may see the Lord and the gospel. Open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God! (Acts 26:18; 2 Corinthians 4:2–5)
2. Lord, please destroy the schemes of the evil one that prevent them from coming to You through false beliefs and ways of thinking. I also pray that You would tear down every proud thought that sets itself against the knowledge of God. (2 Corinthians 10:4–5) (If you know specific thoughts, beliefs, or misunderstandings that the VIP has, write them here and pray about them specifically and directly. Continue to observe and understand the person carefully.)
3. Help them to see Your love for them and to realize how much they need You. Enable them to truly recognize their spiritual misery and emptiness so that they may be freed from every kind of corruption and the snares of sin in which they are trapped. (In this part, carefully consider and specifically mention the sinful influences or circumstances that may be holding the person captive, such as materialism, sex addiction, an immoral lifestyle, gambling, and so on.)
4. Place godly people in their path each day so that they may hear about the Lord. Through their service and care, may the Holy Spirit, who gives new life, come upon them and remain with them, and regenerate them through His love and power. (John 3:5–8; Isaiah 66:9) (Consider who the faithful people around this person may be. If possible, contact them and pray together in unity. These days, we have unexpectedly met several VIPs who were deeply surprised to discover that an old friend had become a House Church shepherd.)
5. Protect them from the deception and schemes of the evil one, and clothe them with the full armor of God so that they will not be captured by all kinds of negative and false thoughts about God, or by any wicked and corrupt thoughts. (Matthew 6:13; Ephesians 6:11) (In this part, pray that any negative experiences they may have had with Christians—from childhood until now—such as being deceived or hurt by those who professed faith in Jesus, may be washed away. If the poor example of Christians around them has become a reason for them to reject or criticize Christianity itself, we repent on behalf of believers and pray for them.)

Believing Your Word that You are pleased when we become witnesses and evangelists for them, we offer this prayer. Until we see progress, we will continue to pray for them. In the name of Jesus Christ, who will accomplish all these things and become their Savior, we pray. Amen!
