추수감사주일 헌금에 대해서(2025.10.12)

추수감사절과 의미가 굉장히 유사한 구약시대의 절기로는 ‘초막절’이 있습니다. 추수를 하게 해주신 것에 대해 감사하는 절기이기 때문입니다. 신명기 16:14에 보면 초막절에 지켜야 할 특별한 명령이 있는데요, 바로 ‘레위 사람(성전 일을 돌보느라 농사를 못한, 오늘날의 목회자와 상황이 유사함)과 떠돌이와 고아와 과부’까지도 함께 즐거워하라는 명령입니다. 그래서 많은 교회들이 추수감사주일에 들어온 특별감사헌금을 따로 모아서, 어려운 이웃이나 선교지 등으로 흘려보내고 있습니다. 우리 교회도 부활절 헌금으로 개척교회, 선교지, 목회자들을 섬겨왔습니다.

이번 추수감사주일 헌금으로는 내년 4월 밴쿠버에서 열리는 “가정교회 목회자 컨퍼런스”를 섬기려고 합니다. 이 컨퍼런스는 밴쿠버 가정교회들이 연합으로 주최합니다. 그리고 이때는 하나님께서 기뻐하시는 교회를 해보고자 몸부림치는 북남미와 여러 선교지에서 오실 120여명이 넘는 목회자와 선교사님들을 한꺼번에 섬길 수 있는 정말 좋은 ‘기회’입니다. 

왜 ‘기회’라고 말할 수 있느냐 하면 컨퍼런스를 통해서 한 목회자가 바뀌면 그 교회가 바뀌기 때문입다. 그래서 한 목회자를 섬기는 것은 한 교회를 섬기는 것입니다. 그리고 그 교회로 인해 한 지역이 바뀔 수 있습니다. 그래서 선교사님을 섬기는 것은 그 선교지를 섬기는 것입니다. 그러므로 우리는 목회자 컨퍼런스를 섬김으로써 수천명 혹은 그 이상의 사람들을 섬기는 일이 됩니다. 그리고 무엇보다 그분들을 사용하시는 주님을 섬기는 일입니다.

예수님은 마태복음 10:41-42에서 친히 다음과 같은 약속을 하셨습니다. “예언자를 예언자로 맞아들이는 사람은, 예언자가 받을 상을 받을 것이요, 의인을 의인이라고 해서 맞아들이는 사람은, 의인이 받을 상을 받을 것이다. 내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 이 작은 사람들 가운데 하나에게, 내 제자라고 해서 냉수 한 그릇이라도 주는 사람은, 절대로 자기가 받을 상을 잃지 않을 것이다.” 이 상 받는 기회를 적극적으로 선용하시기를 원합니다.

그래서 추수감사헌금을 내실 때는 다른 헌금들과 구분을 해주세요. 반드시 헌금봉투의 ‘기타[OTHER]’란에 “추수” 혹은 “Thanksgiving”이라고 기록하신 후에 금액을 적어주시기 바랍니다. E-Transfer를 하는 경우에도 Message란에 동일하게 기록하고 보내주세요.

About the Thanksgiving Sunday Offering (October 12, 2025)

In the Old Testament, there was a festival very similar in meaning to our modern Thanksgiving — the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot). It was a time to give thanks to God for the harvest. In Deuteronomy 16:14, there is a special command regarding this festival: the people were to rejoice together with the Levites (who could not farm because they were devoted to temple service — similar to pastors today), foreigners, orphans, and widows. Following this biblical principle, many churches collect a special Thanksgiving offering and use it to bless those in need — such as local neighbors or mission fields. Our church, likewise, has been using the Easter offering to support church plants, mission fields, and pastors.

This year, the Thanksgiving Sunday offering will be used to support the “House Church Pastors Conference” to be held in Vancouver in April 2026. This conference is hosted jointly by the house churches in Vancouver. It will be a wonderful opportunity to serve more than 120 pastors and missionaries from across North and South America and various mission fields — all of whom are striving to build churches that please God.

Why do we call this an opportunity? Because when a pastor is transformed through this conference, an entire church can be transformed. Serving a pastor means serving a church. And when a church changes, an entire region can be changed. Likewise, serving a missionary means serving the mission field they represent. Therefore, by supporting this pastors’ conference, we are ultimately serving thousands of people—and above all, the Lord Himself, who works through these servants.

Jesus Himself gave us this promise in Matthew 10:41–42:

“⁴¹ If you receive a prophet as one who speaks for God, you will be given the same reward as a prophet. And if you receive righteous people because of their righteousness, you will be given a reward like theirs. ⁴² And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.”

I hope you make the most of this opportunity to receive the reward that Jesus promised.

Therefore, when giving your Thanksgiving offering, please make sure to distinguish it from other offerings. On the offering envelope, mark ‘Other’ and write “추수” (Chusu) or “Thanksgiving”, along with the amount.

关于感恩主日奉献（2025年10月12日）

在《旧约》中，有一个与现代感恩节意义非常相似的节期——住棚节（Feast of Tabernacles / Sukkot）。这是一个向上帝感谢丰收的节日。《申命记》16章14节中有一项特别的命令：百姓要与利未人（他们专心侍奉圣殿，无法务农——与今天的牧师相似）、寄居的外人、孤儿和寡妇一同欢乐。

遵循这一圣经原则，许多教会都会在感恩节期间收取特别奉献，用来祝福有需要的人——例如贫困的邻舍或宣教工场。我们教会也一直将复活节奉献用于支持植堂事工、宣教工场以及牧者。

今年的感恩主日奉献将用于支持2026年4月在温哥华举行的“家庭教会牧者大会”。这次大会由温哥华地区的家庭教会联合主办，是一个极好的机会，让我们能服事来自北美、南美及多个宣教工场的120多位牧师和宣教士——他们都在努力建造讨神喜悦的教会。

为什么说这是一个“机会”呢？因为当一位牧者通过这次大会得以更新改变时，整个教会也能被改变。服事一位牧者，就是在服事一间教会。而当一间教会被改变，一个地区也可能被更新。同样地，服事一位宣教士，就是服事他所代表的宣教工场。因此，当我们支持这次牧者大会时，实际上是在服事成千上万的人，更是在服事那位通过他们工作的主自己。

耶稣亲自在《马太福音》10章41–42节中给了我们这样的应许：

“接待先知，因为他是先知的，必得先知所得的赏赐；

接待义人，因为他是义人的，必得义人所得的赏赐。

我实在告诉你们，这些小子中的一个，只要因为他是我的门徒，给他一杯凉水喝，这人断不会失掉他的赏赐。”

我希望大家都能好好把握这个机会，去领受耶稣所应许的赏赐。

因此，当您奉献感恩主日奉献时，请务必与其他奉献区分开。

在奉献信封上，请在“其他（Other）”一栏中写上“추수”（韩语“收获”之意）或“Thanksgiving”，并注明金额。
