김목사의 일주일(2025.08.17)

지난 몇 개월 간 저의 일주일 사역에 대해서 공유해보고 싶은데 어떤 방법으로 할까 하다가 대략적인 소요시간으로 나누어보려 합니다.

생명의 삶은 한 주에 2시간 이상 되는 내용을 제 것으로 만들어서 강의할 수 있을만큼까지 만드는 데는 하루에 한 10시간 정도 한다고 치면, 2.5일 정도가 걸렸습니다. 그리고 강의를 수행하는 시간이 있습니다. 주일 설교를 준비할 때는 대략적으로 16~20시간까지 소요됩니다. 칼럼은 3~4시간, 어린이설교는 준비에 3~4시간, 토요아침기도회는 준비하는데 1~2시간. 그리고 수행하는 시간이 필요합니다.

위 소요시간은 정확한 것은 아닙니다. 그 시간 내내 머리와 손과 입을 쓴다는 것이 불가능하기 때문에 쉬는 시간, 멍한 시간, 집중을 못하는 시간도 포함됩니다. 사무실에서 근무를 한다고 가정해본 것입니다. 또 가끔은 후닥닥 끝내기도 하고, 때로는 그날의 컨디션이나 각종 고민으로 무한정 길어지기도 합니다. 그래서 한쪽이 오래 걸리거나 에너지를 많이 쓰면, 상대적으로 다른 쪽에는 쓸 여력이 부족해서 부랴부랴 해야 할 때도 있었습니다.

그외 소소한 행정적인 일들과, 연락을 주고받는 일, 생각하는 일, 교회 안팎의 정기 혹은 비정기적인 모임들이 있습니다. 이것들은 시간이 어디 갔나 모르게 훅 지나가버리는 일들이죠. 그리고 가장 중요한 기도와 말씀으로 하나님과 교제하는 시간이 필요합니다.(More!)

사역에 관한 은사가 풍성하신 분들은 더 많은 일도, 더 적은 시간에 거뜬히 해내면서, 더 많은 열매를 맺을텐데 저는 아직 작은 일도 겨우겨우 해냅니다. 그래서 저의 부족함이 드러나는 것 같아서 부끄럽습니다. 하지만 그럼에도 공유해보는 이유는 중보기도를 부탁하기 위함입니다. 생명의 삶에서 이런 내용을 공유했는데 중보기도할 때 도움이 된다는 이야기를 들었습니다.

하나님의 사역은 사람의 힘으로 하는 것도 아니고, 혼자서 하는 것도 아닙니다. 그래서 서로서로 중보하는 기도가 필요함을 매번 절실하게 느낍니다. 특히 저희 가정에 어려운 일이 있었을 때, 형제자매님들께서 중보해주시겠다고 했습니다. 그때도 중보기도의 힘을 경험했습니다. 그렇게 사람의 부족함 너머 일하시는 하나님의 손길을 늘 경험하는 우리 공동체가 되길 소망합니다.

For the past few months, I have wanted to share about my weekly ministry schedule. I decided to explain it based on the approximate time it takes for each part.

To prepare the Living Life Study material so that I can really make it my own and teach it for more than two hours by one chapter, it usually takes about 10 hours of work each day for about 2.5 days. Then there is also the actual time spent teaching. Preparing a Sunday sermon usually takes about 16 to 20 hours. Writing a column takes 3 to 4 hours, preparing a children’s sermon also takes 3 to 4 hours, and preparing for the Saturday morning prayer meeting takes 1 to 2 hours—plus the actual time of leading it.

These times are not exact. It’s not possible to stay fully focused, using my head, hands, and mouth nonstop. The time also includes breaks, blank moments, and times when I can’t concentrate. I imagined it as if I were working in an office. Sometimes I finish quickly, but other times it drags on endlessly depending on my condition or worries. When one task takes too long or too much energy, I often end up rushing through the others.

There are also many small administrative tasks, messages and calls, time spent thinking, and both regular and irregular meetings inside and outside the church. These are the kinds of things that make time slip away without noticing. And above all, I need time to meet with God in prayer and in the Word. (More!)

There are people with abundant spiritual gifts who can do much more, in much less time, and bear much greater fruit. But I am still barely managing even the small tasks. This makes me feel ashamed of my weakness. Yet I share this in order to ask for your intercessory prayers. I once shared something like this in Living Life Study, and someone told me that it helped them when they prayed.

God’s work is not done by human strength, and it is not done alone. I feel deeply every time how much we need to intercede for one another in prayer. Especially when my family went through hard times, brothers and sisters said they would intercede for us. In that moment, I truly experienced the power of intercessory prayer. That is why I hope our community will continue to experience God’s hand working beyond human weakness.
